“No one would talk much in society if they knew how often they misunderstood others.”

  • Active Listening
  • Empathic Listening
  • The Map of Life
  • Non-verbal Communication (Body Language)Communication Skills.JPG
  • Importance of curiosity
  • Powerful Words
  • Cultural considerations in Communication
  • Phone, email and SMS
  • Humor in Communication
  • Presentation Skills

OBJECTIVES:

On completion of this module, participants are expected to:

  • Have developed a much wider range of personal interaction techniques for use in all aspects of work and life.
  • Have developed excellent Communication Skills such as active and empathic listening, as well as skills in non-verbal communication.
  • Understand how to avoid problems which might arise through a lack of sensitivity to cultural considerations.
  • Be aware of best practice in phone, email and text communication
  • Know the ten major Communication Skills as applied to listening
  • Have a good general understanding of Presentation Skills
